Fiberglass geogrid is a new type of geotextile substrate made from alkali free glass fiber filament or roving as raw material, formed into a mesh structure through warp knitting and weaving technology, and specially coated (such as modified asphalt or self-adhesive). Its main components are inorganic materials such as silicon oxide, which have characteristics such as high and low temperature resistance (-100 ℃ to 1000 ℃), alkali resistance, and aging resistance. It is widely used in the fields of soft foundation reinforcement, pavement reinforcement, and slope protection in highways, railways, airports, and water conservancy projects.
This material achieves mechanical interlocking of aggregates through a mesh structure, which can enhance the load-bearing capacity of asphalt mixtures and effectively delay low-temperature cracking and reflection of base cracks. Its key performance includes high tensile strength (longitudinal and transverse strength can reach 25-160KN/m), low elongation (≤ 3%), and no creep characteristics. During construction, it is necessary to lay in layers and compact them in layers with medium (coarse) sand. There are two types: self-adhesive type (direct laying) and non self-adhesive type (fixed with U-shaped nails). The overlap width should not be less than 10cm, and the main force direction should be perpendicular to the axis of the embankment. In road engineering, it can reduce ruts by more than 50% and extend the service life by 4-7 years.
